We want to have plenty of time to shop the sales!
New Bell Schedule for All Wake County Schools Next
Year
The new school schedule adds 10 minutes to the school day
and provides one hour early dismissal on Wednesdays. On six of those Wednesdays, school will release 2.5 hours early. School
administrators and representatives of the Time Committee say the changes will provide the desired status of:
- Common understanding and expectations for professional learning teams;
- Consistent, structured time for all WCPSS K-12 educators;
- All staff participating in professional learning teams; and
- Community understanding of the value of the learning teams’ work.
The new YMES bell schedule will be 9:05-3:45
on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. The schedule on ALL Wednesdays will be 9:05-2:45 with six early release Wednesdays at
1:15.

Don't forget to
keep collecting Box Tops for Education and Tyson Foods Project A+ labels. Send them in with your child and your teacher will
get them to the correct place. (We are no longer collecting Campbell soup labels.)
If you haven't already, also link your Harris Teeter, Target,
and Food Lion cards to Yates Mill (you can do it at the register during checkout or on their Web sites). Remember, you have
to RE-LINK your cards every school year!
Looking
for a Way to Get Involved?
Volunteer opportunities abound with the PTA. Please take a look at the 07-08 descriptions (PDF) of the programs administered through the PTA. You're sure to find something you'll truly love to do this
year! There are many ways to get involved. If you're a stay-at-home parent, home with younger siblings, or work full-time
--- there's something for everyone! (Some programs lack descriptions. If you can provide an accurate description,
or have other updates, please contact Melinda Allen at mallens@mindspring.com.)
