YMES Grounds Day -- Saturday, February 27
On Saturday, February 27, please join YMES staff and families in an effort to beautify our school property. Drop in anytime between 8:00 am and noon. If possible, also bring gardening/yard tools with you (label with your name). We can get alot done when we work together!

PTA Meeting -- Tuesday, March 2 at 6:30 pm

Please plan to attend the next PTA meeting March 2 in the Media Center.

Box Tops for Education and Campbell's Labels Incentives

Please save your Box Top coupons from General Mills products and Campbell's Labels. Each coupon is worth 10 cents for our school. YMES PTA received over $1000 last year from this program, and this year we want to exceed that amount. The PTA will be offering incentives twice during the year to the class in each grade that collects the highest number of Box Tops. The deadline for the second submission will be towards the end of May. (Be sure to ask friends and family to save their Box Tops for YMES too!)  You don't have to wait until May to turn in Box Tops -- send 'em on in.

The YMES PTA decided to once again collect Campbell's Labels for Education. (Please keep in mind that we only need the UPC code from participating products, not the entire label. For a full list of participating products, visit www.labelsforeducation.com/participating-products.aspx.) The Campbell's labels will also count toward the contest totals for the second contest in May. So keep saving Box Tops coupons and begin saving Campbell's labels for Yates Mill!  

PLTs on Wednesday Afternoons
What do our teachers do on Wednesday afternoons when school is dismissed an hour early? They participate in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs). Want to learn more? Visit http://yatesmilles.wcpss.net/ and click on Administrative PLT at the right of the page.  

How Will You Be Involved This Year? 
You are invited to volunteer for the PTA ANY TIME DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.  Lend a hand by giving just a few hours of your time to help plan and run any of our activities and fundraisers. We have tasks for everyone---moms, dads, kids, teachers, relatives, and family friends---at various levels of participation. The strength of our PTA lies in the number of volunteers. If your schedule allows for more time, join a committee or work in the classroom. Giving of your time, talent, and ability not only helps the school, it also enriches our children's education.

The PTA holds open meetings every month. Look for the dates and times of upcoming events and meetings in the PTA Newsletter your child will bring home bi-weekly, and on this Web site.

Painless Fundraisers
Don't forget to keep collecting Box Tops for Education, Campbell's labels, and Tyson Foods Project A+ labels. Send them in with your child and your teacher will get them to the correct place.
