Volunteer Opportunities Have you wanted to volunteer all year, but just not worked out the right time? Signed up to volunteer, but no one ever called you to give you details of when to show up? Volunteers have a way of slipping through the cracks, but we really want to help you donate your time, and find a good match for your talents and interest. There are needs every single day at our school and for every volunteer who walks through our front door, your child benefits in some way. Even if you work full-time and can’t get into school during school hours, there are many, many things you can do! If you are interested, but worried about over-committing but would like to find something that fits your schedule, please contact one of the Board of Directors. Please check back here often! updated 8.19.10 Attend the PTA Information Session Thurs Sept 2 at 6:30 pm  For those families new to Yates Mill or those seeking more information regarding the PTA, please attend our information session on Thursday, Sept 2 at 6:30 in the Media Center. During this time, we will review the current programs and answer any questions you may have regarding the PTA. You will have the opportunity to sign up for activities that interest you. Another opportunity for volunteer sign up will be provided during the shool's Open House in September.

Volunteer Registration Information Everyone is encouraged to volunteer at Yates Mill; not just parents. Other family members and close family friends are welcome. To volunteer, you must first register with the Wake County School System volunteer data bank. Registration must be done at a designated computer at Yates Mill. Registration from other computers is not possible for security reasons. During registration, you will be asked to provide information and to select the types of volunteer activities in which you are interested. There are four volunteer levels.  Levels 1 and 2 activities include helping out in classroom, help with the Fun Run and Field Day, go on field trips, be the Room Parent, etc. This is the level 99% of volunteers register for.  Level 3 and 4 activities typically involve unsupervised one-on-one contact with students either on or off campus.
